Why You Will Love WordPress

Jacqueline DeVito Hi. My name is Jacqueline, and I’m addicted to WordPress.

It is true. I’ve only been working with WordPress for about two weeks now, and I am already creating web pages and making changes like a pro. I don’t want you all thinking that I am some type of computer wiz, because I’m really not. Granted I am lucky enough to be a member of the elite club called Generation Y, but overall, WordPress is made for anyone and everyone who wants to have a clean, crisp, and overall, useful web page.

I like WordPress, because not only is it easy to get a page up and running, but its even easier to make changes when needed. I do not like to wait for things, and I know you don’t either. So just think of how great it would be to change ANYTHING you need to on your site within minuets. Recently, I added an entire page for a client in under 10 minuets. Does your current site let you do that? Didn’t think so…

WordPress is an amazing platform for your publishing needs, because it is simple enough for Hockey Moms and Joe Six-Packs to have sites, but has so many themes and features that no two sites will be the same. There are endless possibilities on what you can add to your page to make it uniquely yours. Two of the main themes-makers I like to use are StudioPress and Woo Themes.

StudioPress has many themes to choose from, and they have widgets, (think applications you would have on your FaceBook or iphone) which let you add endless features to your site. Anything you want, literally, there is a widget for that. I was able to add a client’s YouTube video in seconds. All I did was put the YouTube’s url into the widget, and it was done. That’s all there is to it. Plus, StudioPress has the Genesis Theme Framework, which is like the Godfather of all platforms. It truly optimizes your SEO abilities.

Woo Themes are fun and stylistic. They are just as easy to use, and I find myself browsing though their gallery just to see all the amazing sites people have created.

I can’t wait for a reason for me to make my own personal site, so I can use these themes and widgets!

Are you a little more advanced, and want to add your custom touch to your site? WordPress lets you do that too!! Through their Dashboard, (that is the homepage where you can change every aspect of the page), you can edit the sites <using> formats:_”like this.” You can use their amazing widgets, CSS, or HTML. I can’t stress enough how easy this platform is to use.

Check out this video we made of me updating a client’s site.

Peace, Love & Tweets,

Jacqueline
